If your social media content is performing well, you can expect the trolls to eventually show up with all the likes and shares 😈
This is something we come across DAILY with our clients (I told you it happens when content performs well, right? 😜)
It’s also become part of our onboarding process – getting a feel of our clients’ personalities and audiences so we can recommend the best approach for handling negative comments.
Having trouble deciding which route to take when the trolls are busy at work?
Let’s go over some options ⬇️
Disclaimer: This is NOT for instances in which people are sharing their differing opinions. Respectful discussion is always welcome. 👀 These recommendations are for the real haters comin’ at you about your looks, being judgmental, etc.
1. Ignore
Let your audience do the talking on your behalf. You can “like” their comments defending you for a little virtual high five while choosing not to officially enter the conversation.
2. Point out the unkindness
For when you’re feeling a little sassy but not interested in an argument. “Oh my, someone woke up and chose violence!” or “Well, [name], that isn’t very kind.”
3. Witty combacks
When the time is right 🙌 Wish we could give you an example but it’s one of those things that’s a case by case scenario.
4. Delete and block
BUH-BYE 👋 – they don’t like your stuff so you’re doing them a favor, right?
5. Let your social media team handle it
This is our personal fave
So, what’s YOUR vibe?
