Have you ever said this to yourself? “Ughhh I *have* to post SOMETHING today.” And then proceed to throw any old thing up to “stay consistent”. Bonus points if your go-to is a girl boss quote from Pinterest.
First, stop doing that. Posting just to post is very obvious to the reader/watcher. We can feel that you aren’t into and no one wants to engage with that energy.
Second… read my top 3️⃣ reasons your audience isn’t interacting with your content:
1. You aren’t making it EASY
Try ending your captions with an easy question- and give them 2-3 answers to choose from.
Example:
Ok, now tell me how you’re really feeling?!
🖤= meh
🤍= aight
💛= on fire
2. You aren’t making it FUN
Don’t forget to weave in non- business/salesy content in to get your people engaging with you. You can try funny & relatable quotes, tweets or memes OR really go for it in your stories by experimenting with your personal brand. Top engaged with content is *always* the non business stuff, but guess what- that’s how you make sure your content will be in front of their eyeballs when you DO sell.
3. You’re forgetting to make it ABOUT THEM
Before you create content you need to know who you’re trying to attract. It’s not what YOU find funny, it’s about what will make your audience go, “DANG! Is she a mind reader?!”.
Highly suggest creating a Client Avatar (name, occupation, hobbies, lifestyle, brands they like, pop culture they’re into, etc.) and then writing content specifically to them!
Here’s the recap…
Figure out WHO you’re talking to and WHAT they want to hear, then KEEP it FUN & MAKE it EASY for them to talk to you.
